Migrant Support Collective

Migrant Support Collective (MSC) is a volunteer-run initiative advocating for the dignity and well-being of detained migrants in the U.S. It began as a mutual aid effort sending books to LGBTQIA+ migrants in the Midwest and has grown into a fiscally sponsored organization supporting detained migrants nationwide.

As MSC’s programs expanded, so did their need for a clear, accessible website that could effectively communicate their growth, explain their services, support grant applications, and facilitate donations. We built their new site on Webflow, using fresh branding and custom illustrations to bring their story and mission to life.

In collaboration with Kelsey Hach (branding), Stephanie Scrozynski (illustrations), Aurelia Beye (research, UX/UI).

Illustrating Collective Impact

An Impact page that highlights MSC’s growing reach through clear visuals and metrics, helping funders and supporters see the real-world effects of their contributions.

Centering the Mission

A dedicated About page puts MSC’s mission, vision, and values front and center, making it easy for partners and funders to understand their commitments.

Introducing the Team

A “Who We Are” page introduces MSC’s core team and founding story. Created in response to partner feedback, this helps build trust by showing the people and passion behind the mission.

Simplifying the Requests

A clear, easy-to-navigate page for requesting support now includes an embedded Airtable form and prominent button in the main navigation bar. Custom illustrations help explain how access to books can make a big difference for someone in detention.

In their words...

There is no one I would have rather had redesign our website than Mimi. She always asked for feedback and incorporated it into her work, so that the resulting design was truly a great reflection of what our organization’s values are. With a lens focused on inclusivity and accessibility, she accomplished creating a user-centered website that meets the needs of our diverse audience, which includes migrants, social workers, legal aid workers, grant makers, and donors. Mimi is an excellent designer for any social impact oriented organization. She is not only extremely dedicated and talented, but a pleasure to work with!
